Club kit

If your child is new to swimming, it can be difficult to understand or know what kit is correct for them to have. When it comes to fins/kickboard/pull buoys, you do not need to break the bank to get ones that do the job. A good thing to remember is to name the kit with a permanent pen, as most children end up with very similar kit.

Essentials for all squads in training and competing

  • Working goggles

  • Spare goggles

  • Swim hat (plus a spare when competing - hats can break)

  • Drinks bottle with water (no fizzy drinks)

Addtional requirements for training (check with squad coach)

  • Kickboard

  • Short fins (not scuba type)

  • Pull buoy

  • Paddles

  • Snorkel (not scuba type)

Additional information on equipment

Short Fins (not scuba type)

These range in price from £16 upwards. For a new swimmer, the £16 fins will do just as good a job as the £35 pair.

 

Kickboard

These range from £12 upwards. For a new swimmer, the £12 kickboard is recommended. You can usually find kickboards at the leisure centres to buy.

Pullbuoy

These range from £10 upwards. For a new swimmer, the £10 pullbuoy will suffice. You can usually find pullbuoys at the leisure centres to buy.

 

Paddles

A pair of swim hand paddlesThese range from £10 upwards. When starting out always opt for the smaller size. They help swimmers develop their back, chest, arm and shoulder strength by creating a larger surface area.

 

Snorkel

Red swim training snorkelThese range from £19 upwards. They allow swimmers to relax in the water while maintaining proper body alignment and improving stroke technique for maximum efficiency

 

Club branded kit and clothing

Swim hats

All members are required to wear a BSG Bolts hat when competing

Club hats can be orderd through the google form.

There are two options available:

1. Black Hat with BSG logo
2. (Soul) Long Hair Black Hat with BSG logo (swimming hats for swimmers with long/thick and afro hair)
 

Options for distribution

a) There will be some held at the BSG Shop at Kingswood Leisure Centre, Church Road, Staple Hill BS16 4RH  and the times open are Friday 5.30-7.15 pm and some Wednesdays. The best advice is to email Sarah Taylor  at [email protected] to ensure the shop will be open.
 
b) Hats can be posted so please state the address you would like the hat to be delivered to with your postcode (extra charge applies - see form)
 
Fees for can be charged directly at the shop or charged via Teamunify once collected or posted.
 

Clothing

Club branded t-shirts are available on the Macron Llanelli website.

The t-shirts come in two styles Wisp and Dryad (womens) and in senior and junior sizes each.
Please check the Llanelli store size chart - be aware the sizes can come up on the smaller side.

Initials can be added at an exrta cost.
